New Adult Review! Elite by Rachel Van Dyken

(This is a New Adult Book and recommended for 17+)
Today's review is on Elite by Rachel Van Dyken

From Goodreads:
When I won the annual Eagle Elite College Scholarship lottery, I was thrilled. After all, my grandma had just died and I wanted to take care of my aging grandpa -- he couldn't be a farmer in Wyoming forever. And graduating from Eagle Elite meant opportunity.

But I wasn't counting on meeting Nixon.

Nor was I counting on the rules of the Elect.

1. Do not touch The Elect.
2. Do not look at The Elect.
3. Do not speak to The Elect.

And worst of all? Don't discover the secret they hide, because in the end, you may just realize... it's about you.

*This is a New Adult Book, blood, violence, cursing, sexual references, and drug use. Not recommended for those under 17.*

Cover:
I loved this cover when I first saw it. Perfect for the story, but it was still pretty much the same as most other NA books. Two people just about to kiss. Then I saw this...
Same girl and guy, same photo shoot... darn it. And I like this picture so much more.

My First Reaction:
I.WANT.IT.NOW!

What I Thought:

I read this book in one sitting. My house has been destroyed by my three children, they think they are starving, I have yet to fix my makeup and I think the dog is locked in the refrigerator... But it was so worth it!

OMG. Seriously, where do I start. This book, it was exactly what I wanted, what I needed! Bad boy Nixon, sweet and innocent Trace awesome girlfriend Monroe these are the characters I hope and wish for in a book like this one.

"Because we are living our own Romeo and Juliet."

First off the plot was amazing. I loved the mystery and how confused I was in the beginning. It was not a smut filled love story, there was subsistence behind it all, there was a story line that had me hooked. Of course the love story had me swooning the entire way, I am a female after all.

"Everything you have ever known... is about to change."

The characters were well developed. I love Trace, she has guts and is not afraid to laugh at herself. If she was a real, she would be my best friend. She has a mysterious back story, but that just adds to her depth as a character. Nixon the hot bad boy with a lip ring, scorched through these pages. He is exactly why I read these type of books. Controlling to a fault, he has a temper that could set a house on fire, but a good side so sweet your teeth with hurt! Who doesn't love a guy this bi-polar? Chase is wonderful, but to much of a good guy for my taste, best friend of course but not boyfriend. (Maybe the gay best friend... he does like shoes...)

How I See Them:
Trace, Nixon, Monroe, and Chase

Final Thoughts:
This is what I have been looking for, a book that grips my hear and squeezes, a book so swoon-worthy I nearly fainted, a book I didn't put down until it was finished! Rachel Van Dyken you have fulfilled my book fantasy and more. Amazing!

I received this E-Book for free from NetGalley for an honest review. Thank you for the opportunity to read this wonderful book!
